The Fourth Born Actor

October 5, 2005 / by birthorder

The Fourth Born is best equipped of the Birth Orders for an acting career. The Fourth Born learns from childhood to act out different personalities. As a child the Fourth Born is told that he or she is not big enough, old enough, fast enough, strong enough or smart enough to play with the older siblings. The Fourth Born tends to get a negative view of self as being unacceptable.

In order to overcome not being good enough the Fourth Born studies others to discover how to be someone else. The Fourth Born watches how others do things to emulate them. The Fourth Born gets absorbed in a dramatic TV show studying how to be a character in the show. The Fourth Born watches every facial expression, gesture and move, listens to every inflection, tone and variation in the voice to copy them. This extensive study on how to be someone else creates a talent for portraying lots of different personalities.

The Fourth Born often acts in daily life even if he or she does not become an actor. The Fourth Born can be whoever you want the Fourth Born to be. This can be positive as in entertaining people. It can also be negative as in winning a court battle over custody of children as many a spouse can attest. The Fourth Born can be so convincing that the spouse ends up looking bad even though the situation may be exactly the opposite. This acting talent makes the Fourth Born capable of being the ultimate con man or woman.

Pushed to the extreme where Fourth Born acting becomes compulsive can result in Multiple Personality Disorder or as it is known now, Dissociative Identity Disorder.

The acting skill of the Fourth Born can be so good that the best of us are taken in by it. They know much more about acting than the rest of us know about identifying acting.

Right now my favorite show is "Extras" starring Ricky Gervais (a fourth born chronologically). I don't know of a funnier person right now (the original ''the office" is just brilliant).

Curious though -- do 4's have a tendency to become atheists at all, maybe in response to the 3's over-reliance on religion?

I would remark on paulmartens atheist question. Fourths may have a tendency to atheism simply because they feel no value in themselves. They have been told they are too everything for so long that they believe that of themselves. Therefore they are not worthy to believe in God.

Paul, I think you are right about the dynamics of Fourth Born atheism. If the older Third Born sibling uses religion on the Fourth, the Fourth is apt to escape the Third Born entrapment by deciding there is no God.

Psychovirus, feeling unworthy has exactly the opposite effect. Lacking personal worth, the Fourth Born or any other Birth Order personality may seek to find their worth in their relationship with God. The Fourth Born becomes atheistic to escape being trapped perhaps by their own misdeeds that they feel condemn them.

I suspect any Birth Order can become atheistic for different reasons. I'd like to hear from them.

I have experienced the worst of Fourths from the generation ahead of me, from my own generation, and from the next generation in my family. What Cliff is saying here is right on target. The abusive Fourth is remarkably able to manipulate others into believing what is not true. I remember an incident when my abusive father was picked up for speeding with our whole family in the car. He strictly forbade us to speak or even move on penalty of a beating. Then when the patrolmen arrived, he rolled down his window and acted like an entirely different person. That officer would never have an inkling of the abusive monster he really was, even complimented him on what a nice, well-behaved family we were. Despite being caught driving over 100 MPH, he managed to convince the officer to let him off easy. I was truly amazed at this performance. And saddened, because I was afraid of his speeding, and had hoped this would end it. But of course it didn't--he continued to drive exactly as he pleased.

Cliff's information has been extremely helpful to me in dealing with abuse because Fourths are hard to understand. I've read his books and recommend them, too. Only by understanding what is really happening can one hope to begin to heal. Thanks for listening!

Wow, yeah, this is spot on. As a Fourth Born, I often question what my personality actually is. I tend to adjust my personality to fit in best with my environment. So, who I am at work differs from who I am with my friends and even from one group of friends to another. It really does help me work well anywhere and get along well with many different types of people, but it also adds to my sense of never belonging anywhere.

Also, I may be an actor, but my best friends know exactly who I am. Those are the three people in the world I feel like accept me enough to be myself around them. A lack of judgement helps a Fourth Born open up more than anything else.

Wow you are helping me decipher if my husband is a 2nd or a 4th born. He is hung up on being a 2nd born but he has all the anger issues and anytime we fight he emulates any fighting words or phrases I use right back at me and when I call him on it he just says "Well you just don't like it being used on you." It frustrates me. It's like a 2 year old wanting the cookie only after he saw it and them claiming thats what he has been feeling all day regardles sif he just starting atcing up after seeing it 5 minutes ago. Oh and here's the kicker, when I go and try the same tactic on my husband (using a phases of his on him) he claims I am being immature. Ok so maybe I am. But I am also experimenting to see if the door swings both ways. ya know?

    PS
Hi, it's Nichole & Wai.. see ya in a few hours [SMILE]

I've been recently taking in films starring Christian Bale who I believe to be a 4th born.  He is a master of accents and personalities I may say.  Interesting...
